AT SAN ANTONIO

Welcome to Gamma Phi Beta

Welcome to Gamma Phi Beta! Founded in 1874, Gamma Phi Beta is one of the oldest and most respected sororities. Our legacy is rooted in empowering women to grow through love, labor, learning, and loyalty. Our chapter is proud to uphold these core values by creating a supportive environment where every one of our members can thrive and grow into confident and compassionate women. Explore our site to learn more about our chapter, our philanthropic mission with Girls on the Run, and the sisterhood that makes Gamma Phi Beta a home away from home. Whether you're a potential new member, an alumna, or a friend of the chapter, we're glad you're here.

Our Core Values
At the heart of Gamma Phi Beta are our core values Love, Labor, Learning, and Loyalty. These values represent the way we live, lead, and support each other. Through love, we build authentic connections and create a space where every member feels seen and valued. With labor, we dedicate ourselves to meaningful service through volunteering, fundraising, and support. Learning is important to our journey as we encourage curiosity, academic achievement, and personal improvement. With loyalty we strengthen our commitment to our chapter and the values that define our sisterhood. Together, these values empower us to become confident women of character who lead with heart.
Our Founders

E. Adeline Curtis
Adeline was best known for her vibrant personality and enthusiasm. She was passionate about creating a sisterhood that created strong bonds and personal developments. Her forward thinking helped lay the foundation for the traditions of Gamma Phi Beta.
Mary A. Bingham
Mary brought warmth, creativity, and a nurturing spirit to the group of founders. She was committed to the ideals of loyalty and service, and her influence helped with shaping the sense of sisterhood and support we know in Gamma Phi Beta today.

Zeta Psi Chapter
The Zeta Psi chapter was established at The University of Texas at San Antonio on April 5, 2008. The International President of Gamma Phi Beta Linda Daniel Johnson and the director of ritual Margaret West Pope brought sisters from the Zeta Lambda chapter at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi to welcome the new sisters of the Zeta Psi chapter into Gamma Phi Beta. A total of 43 new members were initiated into the founding class in which four alumnae, one legacy, volunteer leaders, advisors, and San Antonio alumnae members were in attendance at the ceremony. Since our chapter's establishment at UTSA we have welcomed hundreds of new initiated who have embraced and contributed to the sisterhood of Gamma Phi Beta. Each semester, we seek out individuals who not only share and embody our values, but are also eager to grow along side us within our chapter as a part of our sisterhood.
